I am a multi-hyphenated millennial. I'm a writer-editor-designer-media buyer-project managing guru. This comes from my autodidactic personality.
After leaving college, I did a semester at a law firm before packing my backpack and heading to Asia. Constantly on the move consuming media and commercial art from multiple countries consistently forced me to push my boundaries as a creative. Upon returning back to the States, I shifted to a career in the field that Craigslist clumps as "Marketing/PR/ads."
My approach to any work -- no matter the medium -- are two questions that my father constantly asked of me: "why"? and "how"? Why am I creating this piece of content, and how is it going to stick with the audience? I bring life to several of the concepts I jot down before putting it away for a moment, to let it breathe. I then come back with an editing pen and take away unnecessary word and image that doesn't contribute to the message
I use to think brilliance was about shoving several discorded thoughts to amplify an ad. As I've began to craft brand's narratives though, I now find it paramount to drill and execute a single message repeatedly but uniquely to reinforce what the audience stands to gain.
